Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 70 ILCS 910/19

  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     Whenever an ordinance shall be adopted by the board of directors of a District by a two-thirds vote of the membership to change the name of such District, a certified copy of such ordinance shall be filed in the office of the county clerk of the county wherein such District or any portion thereof is located and in the office of the Secretary of State and thereupon such change of name of such District shall be effective.
