Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 750 ILCS 30/3-2
- Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
“Mature minor” means a person 16 years of age or over and under the age of 18 years who has demonstrated the ability and capacity to manage the minor’s own affairs and to live wholly or partially independent of the minor’s parents or guardian.
