Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 750 ILCS 30/3-4

  • Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
  • Statute: A law passed by a legislature.
     “Guardian” means any person, association or agency appointed guardian of the person of the minor under the Juvenile Court Act, the Juvenile Court Act of 1987, the “Probate Act of 1975”, or any other statute or court order.
