Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 755 ILCS 5/21-1.06

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
     Any other investments authorized by a court of competent jurisdiction or which from time to time have been or may be expressly declared by the General Assembly to be legal investments by representatives of decedents’ estates.
