• Authority: means the Illinois-Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor Civic Center Authority. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 70 ILCS 200/105-5
• Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
• individual: shall include every infant member of the species homo sapiens who is born alive at any stage of development. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.36
• Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
• Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). ^{Source: OCC}
• Metropolitan area: means all that territory in the State of Illinois lying within the municipalities of Lyons, McCook, Hodgkins, Countryside, Indianhead Park, Willow Springs, Justice, Bridgeview, Bedford Park, Summit and Lemont, and all the incorporated area lying within the Village of Burr Ridge, all the unincorporated area lying within Cook and DuPage County, which is bounded on the North by the north line of the Des Plaines River, on the west by a line 10,000 feet west of the center line of Illinois Rt. • Municipalities: has the meaning established in Section 1 of Article VII of the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.27
