  • Agreement of merger: includes a certificate of ownership executed pursuant to Section 1110 of the Corporations Code. See California Health and Safety Code 127932
  • Assisted reproduction: means conception by any means other than sexual intercourse. See California Health and Safety Code 104181
  • Assisted reproduction agreement: means a written contract that includes a person who intends to be the legal parent of a child or children born through assisted reproduction and that defines the terms of the relationship between the parties to the contract. See California Health and Safety Code 104181
  • Business unit: means a branch business unit, a partial business unit, or a whole business unit. See California Health and Safety Code 125291.20
  • Commingled plume: means the condition that exists when groundwater contaminated with petroleum from two or more discrete unauthorized releases have mixed or encroached upon one another to the extent that the corrective action performed on one plume will necessarily affect the other. See California Public Resources Code 43207
  • Contributing site: means a site on which an unauthorized release or discharge of waste has occurred or is occurring and has impacted or threatens to impact groundwater. See California Public Resources Code 43207
  • creditor: means the state or the department or agency of the state seeking to collect the liability. See California Code of Civil Procedure 688.040
  • debtor: means the debtor from whom the liability is sought to be collected. See California Code of Civil Procedure 688.040
  • Degree: means any "academic degree" or "honorary degree" or title of any designation, mark, appellation, series of letters or words such as, but not limited to, associate, bachelor, master, doctor, or fellow which signifies, purports, or is generally taken to signify satisfactory completion of the requirements of an academic, educational, technological, or professional program of study or is an honorary title conferred for recognition of some meritorious achievement.   • Diploma: means any diploma, certificate, transcript, document, or other writing in any language other than a degree representing that an individual has completed any course of study. See California Education Code 32380
  • Disease: means Lyme disease recognized by the presence of the spirochete (borrelia burgdorferi), a spiral-shaped bacterium, in the human body. See California Health and Safety Code 104190
  • Lyme Disease Support Network: means the groups organized through hospitals and volunteer organizations to counsel and provide support to those individuals who have contracted the disease. See California Health and Safety Code 104190
  • Merger: means any of the mergers described in Section 4881. See California Health and Safety Code 127932

  • merger: means any of the mergers described in Section 4901. See California Health and Safety Code 128050

  • sale: means any sale described in Section 4878. See California Health and Safety Code 127461

  • Seller: means a depository corporation that sells a business unit to another depository corporation pursuant to the provisions of this chapter. See California Health and Safety Code 125291.20
