Terms Used In Indiana Code 5-2-6.1-28.5

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
  • claimant: means any of the following individuals filing an application for assistance under this chapter:

    Indiana Code 5-2-6.1-1

   Sec. 28.5. A claimant aggrieved by an action under this chapter may request an appeal under IC 4-21.5 by making a written request to the director within thirty (30) days of the date of the denial letter.
