Sec. 1. As used in this chapter, “appeal” refers to an appeal taken or petition to the department of local government finance by or in respect of a school corporation under any of the following:

(1) IC 6-1.1-17.

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Property: includes personal and real property. See Indiana Code 1-1-4-5
