Terms Used In Iowa Code 123.64
- Application: means a written request for the issuance of a permit, license, or certificate that is supported by a verified statement of facts and submitted electronically, or in a manner prescribed by the administrator. See Iowa Code 123.3
- Defendant: In a civil suit, the person complained against; in a criminal case, the person accused of the crime.
- Writ: A formal written command, issued from the court, requiring the performance of a specific act.
Three days’ notice in writing shall be given the defendant of the hearing of the application, and if then continued at the defendant’s instance the writ as petitioned for shall be granted as a matter of course.
