Terms Used In Iowa Code 222.8
- Administrator: means the person assigned by the director of human services, in accordance with section 218. See Iowa Code 222.2
- resource centers: means the Glenwood state resource center and the Woodward state resource center. See Iowa Code 222.2
- Special unit: means a special intellectual disability unit established at a state mental health institute pursuant to sections 222. See Iowa Code 222.2
- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" may include the said district and territories. See Iowa Code 4.1
Persons admitted to the resource centers or a special unit shall have all reasonable opportunity and facility for communication with their friends. Such persons shall be permitted to write and send letters, provided the letters contain nothing of an offensive character. Letters written by any patient to the administrator or to any state or county official shall be forwarded unopened.
