1. The office of treasurer is an elective office except that if a vacancy occurs in the office, a successor shall be elected or appointed to the unexpired term as provided in chapter 69.

Terms Used In Iowa Code 331.551

  • Person: means an individual, firm, partnership, domestic or foreign corporation, company, association or joint stock association, trust, or other legal entity, and includes a trustee, receiver, assignee, or similar representative thereof, but does not include a governmental body. See Iowa Code 362.2
  • Treasurer: means the county treasurer or a deputy treasurer or employee designated by the county treasurer. See Iowa Code 331.101
 2. A person elected or appointed to the office of treasurer shall qualify by taking the oath of office as provided in section 63.10 and give bond as provided in section 64.10.
 3. The term of office of the treasurer is four years.
