- Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
625A.3 Time for appealing in re constitutional test.
If the action challenges the legality, validity or constitutionality of a proposed constitutional
amendment, notice of appeal may be taken within three days from and after the entry of the decree in district court, and not afterwards.
