Terms Used In Iowa Code 679C.108
- Mediation: means a process in which a mediator facilitates communication and negotiation between parties to assist them in reaching a voluntary agreement regarding their dispute. See Iowa Code 679C.102
- Rule: includes "regulation". See Iowa Code 4.1
- State: includes any state of the United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and any territory or possession subject to the legislative authority of the United States. See Iowa Code 633D.2
Unless subject to chapter 21 or 22, mediation communications are confidential to the extent agreed to by the parties or provided by other law or rule of this state.
