Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 12-803b

  • Authority: means the natural gas authority authorized under this act. See Kansas Statutes 12-870
  • City: means any city in this state. See Kansas Statutes 12-870
  • system: means all contracts for the purchase of natural gas at the wellhead, contracts for the transmission and processing of natural gas, contracts for the sale and delivery of natural gas to consumers, contracts for the sale for resale and delivery of natural gas to distributors, and all other contracts made under authority of this act by the city or the authority, together with all expenditures for obligations under such contracts and all receipts from the sale or other disposition of natural gas and other products pursuant to such contracts. The governing body in any city operating a street-railway system or bus system shall levy annually at the time when other taxes are levied a sufficient tax to pay for the necessary costs and expenses of operating said system and for the purchasing of necessary equipment and improvements therefor only in the event the revenue and income derived from such system are insufficient for such purposes and to pay a portion of the principal and interest on bonds issued by such city under the authority of Kan. Stat. Ann. § 12-1774, and amendments thereto. Such levies as are authorized herein shall be in addition to all other levies authorized or limited by law.
