Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 12-820
- City: means any city in this state. See Kansas Statutes 12-870
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Person: means a natural person, a public agency, private corporation, firm, partnership, cooperative association or business trust of any nature whatsoever, organized and existing under the laws of any state or of the United States. See Kansas Statutes 12-886
- Property: includes personal and real property. See Kansas Statutes 77-201
If any part or portion of the plant or property of any person, company or corporation sought to be acquired by any city proceeding under the provisions of this act be located outside the corporate limits and boundaries of said city, the said city may, nevertheless, proceed under this act to acquire title to such part or portion of the said plant or property as may be located, and to hold and control the same as the property of the city the same as though it was located within the corporate limits of said city, subject to the provisions of Kan. Stat. Ann. §§ 66-104 and 66-131, and amendments thereto.
