Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 12-896

  • Agency agreement: means the written agreement between or among two or more cities establishing a municipal energy agency. See Kansas Statutes 12-886
  • Board: means the members of the authority. See Kansas Statutes 12-870
  • Municipal energy agency: means a quasi-municipal corporation created by agreement between or among two or more cities pursuant to this act to exercise any of the powers granted by Kan. See Kansas Statutes 12-886
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201

Any municipal energy agency created under the provisions of this act shall have the power to receive and expend for any lawful purpose of the agency any grants, bequests, contributions and aid of any kind from any private or public source. Any such agency shall not be subject to the budget and cash-basis law of the state of Kansas. The board of directors of any such agency shall adopt a budget in the manner set forth in the agency agreement or the bylaws of the agency and shall provide for regular auditing procedures as prescribed by the director of accounts and reports pursuant to the provisions of Kan. Stat. Ann. § 75-1121 et seq., and amendments thereto.
