Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 19-3549

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • District: means the water supply district organized pursuant to this act; "board" means the board of county commissioners of Johnson county; "general manager" means the general manager of the water supply district appointed by the board as provided in this act; "county" means Johnson county, Kansas. See Kansas Statutes 19-3522
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201

Upon the approval of the attorney general and filing with the secretary of state, the secretary of state shall declare the district organized and give it the corporate name of Public Wholesale Water Supply District Number ___. Thereupon the district shall be a quasi-municipal corporation.
