Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 47-1217

  • Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • Person: means any individual, partnership, firm, corporation or association. See Kansas Statutes 47-1201

The willful violation of any of the provisions of this act, or the willful failure to comply with any of the provisions of this act, or any of the rules and regulations adopted thereunder, is hereby made a misdemeanor, and any person upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not less than $25 nor more than $500. It shall be the duty of the attorney general and the various county attorneys, to file suit in a court of competent jurisdiction to enjoin any violation of this act or any rule and regulation authorized and adopted under the provisions of this act.
