Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 74-8910

  • Act: means the Kansas development finance authority act. See Kansas Statutes 74-8902
  • Authority: means the Kansas development finance authority created by Kan. See Kansas Statutes 74-8902
  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Tort: A civil wrong or breach of a duty to another person, as outlined by law. A very common tort is negligent operation of a motor vehicle that results in property damage and personal injury in an automobile accident.

No director, employee or officer of the authority shall be liable personally for any reason arising from the service of such person as a director, employee or officer of the authority or any subsidiary corporations created pursuant to this act unless such person acted with willful, wanton or fraudulent misconduct or intentionally tortuous conduct. The authority and any subsidiary corporation created pursuant to Kan. Stat. Ann. § 74-8904, and amendments thereto, shall be considered a governmental entity for purposes of the Kansas tort claims act, Kan. Stat. Ann. § 75-6102, and amendments thereto.
