Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 79-250

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201

No city or county may grant any exemption from ad valorem taxation under section 13 of article 11 of the Constitution of the state of Kansas for all or any portion of the appraised valuation of all or any part of the buildings, improvements, tangible personal property and land of any poultry confinement facility, rabbit confinement facility or swine production facility which is on agricultural land and which is owned or operated by a corporation or limited liability company. As used in this section, “corporation,” “limited liability company,” “agricultural land,” “poultry confinement facility,” “rabbit confinement facility” and “swine production facility” have the meanings respectively ascribed thereto by Kan. Stat. Ann. § 17-5903, and amendments thereto.
