Terms Used In Kansas Statutes > Chapter 82a > Article 20 - Classified Stream Segments

  • Classified stream segments: shall include all stream segments that are waters of the state as defined in Kan. See Kansas Statutes 82a-2001
  • Department: means the department of health and environment. See Kansas Statutes 82a-2001
  • Dependent: A person dependent for support upon another.
  • Legislative session: That part of a chamber's daily session in which it considers legislative business (bills, resolutions, and actions related thereto).
  • Property: includes personal and real property. See Kansas Statutes 77-201
  • Ranking minority member: The highest ranking (and usually longest serving) minority member of a committee or subcommittee.
  • Recreational use: means :

    (i) Primary contact recreational use is use of a classified stream segment for recreation during the period from April 1 through October 31 of each year, provided such classified stream segment is capable of supporting the recreational activities of swimming, skin diving, water-skiing, wind surfing, kayaking or mussel harvesting where the body is intended to be immersed in surface water to the extent that some inadvertent ingestion of water is probable.   • Secretary: means the secretary of health and environment. See Kansas Statutes 82a-2001
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201
