A variance applies to the property for which it is granted, and not to the individual who applied for it. A variance runs with the land and is transferable to any future owner of the land, but it cannot be transferred by the applicant to a different site.

Terms Used In Kentucky Statutes 100.251
- Owner: when applied to any animal, means any person having a property interest in such animal. See Kentucky Statutes 446.010
- Variance: means a departure from dimensional terms of the zoning regulation pertaining to the height, width, length, or location of structures, and the size of yards and open spaces where such departure meets the requirements of KRS
