A cause of action for injunctive relief may be maintained against any person who is reasonably believed to be about to violate or who is in the course of violating KRS
216.302 by any person who is:

  • Action: includes all proceedings in any court of this state. See Kentucky Statutes 446.010
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • Prosecute: To charge someone with a crime. A prosecutor tries a criminal case on behalf of the government.
  • Violate: includes failure to comply with. See Kentucky Statutes 446.010

(1) The spouse, parent, child, or sibling of the person who would commit suicide; (2) Entitled to inherit from the person who would commit suicide;
(3) A health care provider of the person who would commit suicide; or
(4) A public official with appropriate jurisdiction to prosecute or enforce the laws of this Commonwealth.
