  • Discovery: Lawyers' examination, before trial, of facts and documents in possession of the opponents to help the lawyers prepare for trial.

A.  The court may limit, modify, or restrict discovery upon written motion and a showing of good cause, such as a claim of confidentiality under La. Rev. Stat. 46:56.  Such showing may be made ex parte if the interests of justice so require.

B.  If the court restricts, limits, or modifies its order, the written motion showing good cause may be sealed and shall be placed in the record of the proceeding.
