- Commercial building: means a structure used for any purpose other than a one- and two-family dwelling or accessory to a one- and two-family dwelling. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 40:1730.53
A. Nothing in this Part shall be construed to prevent the state fire marshal from enforcing the fire protection, life safety, accessibility, and high-rise laws of this state.
B. Nothing in this Part shall be construed as to prevent the state fire marshal from enforcing the Commercial Building Energy Conservation Code as provided in La. Rev. Stat. 40:1730.41 et seq.
C. Nothing in this Part shall be construed as to prevent the state health officer from enforcing any applicable requirements of the State Sanitary Code as provided in La. Rev. Stat. 40:4.
D. Nothing in this Part shall be construed to authorize the state fire marshal to adopt or amend the Louisiana State Uniform Construction Code.
