Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 45:201.10

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

            The provisions of La. Rev. Stat. 45:201.5 through 201.9 may be enforced by appropriate civil remedy in any court of competent jurisdiction by any governmental authority.
