  • Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC

A.  Every agency is authorized to lease its land for the development and production of minerals.  School boards are authorized to lease sixteenth section lands for the development and production of minerals.

B.  The provisions of La. Rev. Stat. 30:148.1 through 148.7 and La. Rev. Stat. 47:648.1 shall not authorize the breach of any term or condition of any state agency lease applying to lands or mineral interest owned or administered by any school board.
