Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 30:2371

  • Department: means the Department of Public Safety and Corrections. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 30:2363
  • Trade secret: means any confidential formula, pattern, process, device, information, or compilation of information, including chemical name or other unique identifier, that is used in an employer's business, and that gives the employer an opportunity to obtain an advantage over competitors who do not know or use it. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 30:2363

With regard to trade secret protection and the information disclosure requirements of this Chapter, the state of Louisiana, through the Department of Public Safety and Corrections, hereby adopts as its own the trade secret provisions as found in Title III of the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act, 42 U.S.C. § 11042.  All petitions for trade secret protection must be filed with the administrator of the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
