- Commissioner: means the Commissioner of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 12 Sec. 10001

- Inland waters: means all waters within the State above the rise and fall of the tide and wholly or partially within the territorial limits of the State, except private ponds as defined in subsection 51. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 12 Sec. 10001
The Boat Launch Facilities Fund, referred to in this section as “the fund,” is established within the department as a nonlapsing fund to be used by the commissioner to fund or assist in funding the establishment, improvement and maintenance of publicly owned boat launch facilities on inland waters. The commissioner may accept and deposit into the fund any monetary gifts, donations or other contributions from public or private sources. Funds deposited in the fund must be used for the purposes specified in this section. [PL 2007, c. 240, Pt. LLLL, §1 (NEW).]
