There is established within the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry the Bureau of Parks and Lands, which shall carry out the responsibilities of State Government relating to parks, historic sites, submerged and intertidal lands, public reserved lands and nonreserved public lands. 1. Director. The executive head of the bureau is the director.

2. Deputy director. The director is assisted in executive duties by a deputy director. The deputy director position is a classified, confidential position.
