§ 2660-BB Bottled water testing, reporting and sale requirements

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
  • Board: means the Manufactured Housing Board. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 10 Sec. 9002
  • Bottler: means a person that extracts water in this State to be sold as bottled water. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 22 Sec. 2660-AA
  • Complaint: A written statement by the plaintiff stating the wrongs allegedly committed by the defendant.
  • Contaminant: means any physical, chemical, biological or radiological substance or matter in water. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 22 Sec. 2601
  • Dealer: means a person engaged in the sale, offering for sale, brokering or distribution of manufactured housing to a licensed dealer, developer dealer or consumer. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 10 Sec. 9002
  • Department: means the Department of Health and Human Services. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 22 Sec. 1-A
  • Developer dealer: means a person who purchases state-certified manufactured housing from a licensed manufacturer or dealer for placement on property owned by the developer dealer and who offers the manufactured housing for sale to the initial purchaser of the manufactured housing. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 10 Sec. 9002
  • Installation: means :

  • Installer: means a person engaged in the installation or servicing of state-certified manufactured housing. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 10 Sec. 9002
  • Legislative committee: means a joint standing committee of the Legislature, a joint select committee of the Legislature, a task force, commission or council or any other committee established by the Legislature and composed wholly or partly of Legislators for the purpose of conducting legislative business. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 5 Sec. 21
  • Manufactured housing: means a structural unit or units designed to be used as a dwelling or dwellings and constructed in a manufacturing facility and then transported by the use of its own chassis or placement on an independent chassis to a building site. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 10 Sec. 9002
  • Manufacturer: means any person engaged in manufacturing or producing manufactured housing and then selling it to a dealer. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 10 Sec. 9002
  • Mechanic: means an individual engaged in the installation or servicing of HUD-code or pre-HUD-code homes. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 10 Sec. 9002
  • Person: means any individual, partnership, company, public or private corporation, political subdivision or agency of the State, department, agency or instrumentality of the United States or any other legal entity. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 22 Sec. 2601
  • Person: means an individual or entity, including but not limited to a corporation, partnership, firm, organization, company, homeowner, consumer or purchaser. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 10 Sec. 9002
  • PFAS: means a perfluoroalkyl substance or polyfluoroalkyl substance that is detectable in drinking water using standard laboratory methods established by the United States Environmental Protection Agency, including regulated PFAS contaminants. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 22 Sec. 2660-AA
  • Regulated PFAS contaminants: means perfluorooctanoic acid, perfluorooctane sulfonic acid, perfluorohexane sulfonic acid, perfluorononanoic acid, perfluoroheptanoic acid and perfluorodecanoic acid. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 22 Sec. 2660-AA
  • State employee: means any employee of an agency, independent agency or parts of agencies which receive support from the General Fund or that are established, created or incorporated by reference to the laws, except nonpartisan staff of the Legislature. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 5 Sec. 21
  • Statute: A law passed by a legislature.
  • Statute of limitations: A law that sets the time within which parties must take action to enforce their rights.
  • Testimony: Evidence presented orally by witnesses during trials or before grand juries.
  • United States: includes territories and the District of Columbia. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72
  • Year: means a calendar year, unless otherwise expressed. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72
