As used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise indicates, the following terms have the following meanings. [PL 2005, c. 302, §16 (NEW).]
1. Deliver; delivery. “Deliver” or “delivery” means any method of delivery used in conventional commercial practice, including delivery by hand, mail, commercial delivery and electronic transmission.

  • Electronic transmission: means any process of communication that does not directly involve the physical transfer of paper and that is suitable for the retention, retrieval and reproduction of information by the recipient. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 31 Sec. 802-A
  • Foreign limited liability partnership: means a limited liability partnership formed pursuant to an agreement governed by the laws of another jurisdiction and registered under the laws of that jurisdiction. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 31 Sec. 802-A
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
  • Registered limited liability partnership: means a partnership formed pursuant to an agreement governed by the Uniform Partnership Act and registered under this Act. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 31 Sec. 802-A
  • signature: includes any manual, facsimile, conformed or electronic signature. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 31 Sec. 802-A
2. Electronic transmission. “Electronic transmission” means any process of communication that does not directly involve the physical transfer of paper and that is suitable for the retention, retrieval and reproduction of information by the recipient.
