As used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise indicates, the following terms shall have the following meanings. [PL 1979, c. 87, §1 (NEW).]
1. Department. “Department” shall mean the Department of Health and Human Services.

Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 1221

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Department: shall mean the Department of Health and Human Services. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 1221
  • Electrologist: means a person who practices electrology. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 1221
  • Electrology: shall mean the practice of removing hair permanently by applying electricity to the hair follicle to cause growth inactivity to the hair root. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 1221
  • Electrolysis: means the process by which electrology is done. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 1221
  • Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
  • Person: shall mean any individual, firm, partnership, corporation or other association or organization. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 1221
1-A. Electrologist. “Electrologist” means a person who practices electrology.
