  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories.    Upon the request of the governing body of any city, village or township located within the county or region, the commission may apply for and accept grants from the state or the federal government for assistance for the local units of government, which includes but is not limited to surveys, land use studies, urban renewal plans and technical services. County costs shall be reimbursed to the county or counties by the local units of government. The commission may accept and expend grants from the state and the federal government and other public or private sources, contract with reference thereto, and enter into other contracts and exercise all other powers necessary to carry out the purpose of this act.
