Terms Used In Michigan Laws 259.101

  • Aeronautical facilities: means any device, physical or otherwise, that is an object of nature or that is human-made, that aids and is used in aeronautics. See Michigan Laws 259.2
  • Commission: means the Michigan aeronautics commission. See Michigan Laws 259.3
  • Devise: To gift property by will.
  • Gift: A voluntary transfer or conveyance of property without consideration, or for less than full and adequate consideration based on fair market value.
  • Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories.    The commission may, on behalf of and in the name of this state, acquire by purchase, gift, devise, lease, condemnation proceedings, or otherwise, property real or personal, for the purpose of establishing and constructing airports, landing fields, and other aeronautical facilities, and may acquire in the same manner, own, control, establish, construct, enlarge, improve, maintain, equip, operate, regulate, and police these facilities, within this state. The commission may dispose of any property acquired under this section, in accordance with the laws of this state governing the disposition of other similar property of the state.
