  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
   There is hereby appropriated the sum of 25,000 dollars for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1936, and a sum not exceeding 10,000 dollars for the year ending June 30, 1937: Provided, That in no event shall these appropriations exceed the fees collected herein to carry into effect the intent and purpose of this act. All moneys derived from fees shall be deposited to the credit of the general fund, and all expenditures incurred on account of the provisions of this act shall be from appropriations made herein.
