Terms Used In Michigan Laws 3.175

  • Board: means the department of state. See Michigan Laws 3.161
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. See Michigan Laws 8.3o
   The members of the board and such officers and investigators of their respective departments as they shall designate shall have the powers conferred upon peace officers by the general laws of this state when enforcing the provisions of this act. Nothing in this act shall be construed as authorizing the board or the members of the board to create a highway patrol.
