  • Deed: The legal instrument used to transfer title in real property from one person to another.
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. See Michigan Laws 8.3o
   Any such deed and cession shall reserve all mineral, coal, oil and gas rights, but not including sand, gravel, clay or other nonmetallic minerals, to the state of Michigan, together with the right to explore for, mine and remove such minerals from these lands, but no drilling, mining or mineral removal operation of any kind shall be conducted upon the surface of these lands or in the water area.
