- Department: means the director of the department of natural resources or his or her designee to whom the director delegates a power or duty by written instrument. See Michigan Laws 324.301
- month: means a calendar month; the word "year" a calendar year; and the word "year" alone shall be equivalent to the words "year of our Lord". See Michigan Laws 8.3j
- Person: means an individual, partnership, corporation, association, governmental entity, or other legal entity. See Michigan Laws 324.301
- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. On or before the tenth day of every month, all persons authorized to sell park permits shall pay to the department all money received from the sale of park permits for the preceding month. Any person who refuses or neglects to pay the money as provided in this section, in addition to other penalties provided by law, forfeits the right to sell park permits. All persons authorized to sell park permits, except employees of the department who receive a regular salary from the state, may charge the purchaser as compensation 15 cents additional for each annual park permit and 10 cents additional for each daily park permit issued. On or before February 15 of each year a complete report of all permits sold during the previous calendar year shall be filed with the department by each person authorized to sell park permits, and all unsold park permits for the previous year shall be returned to the department.
