- Nursing home: means that term as defined in section 20109. See Michigan Laws 333.17301
- Nursing home administrator: means the individual licensed under this article to engage in the practice of nursing home administration. See Michigan Laws 333.17301
- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. Subject to section 16186, the department may issue a nursing home administrator’s license, without examination, to an individual who holds a current license as a nursing home administrator from another state if the applicant passes an examination approved by the department and the board which tests the individual’s knowledge of law relating to practice in Michigan.
