- Affidavit: A written statement of facts confirmed by the oath of the party making it, before a notary or officer having authority to administer oaths.
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.

- seal: shall be construed to include any of the following:
(a) The impression of the seal on the paper alone. See Michigan Laws 8.3nstate: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. Any subordinate hive, now chartered, or which may hereafter be chartered, by the great hive of the Ladies of the Maccabees of the state of Michigan, may become incorporated and be a body corporate and politic, by passing, by a 2/3 vote of all the members present, at any regular review, of such subordinate hive, a like resolution, as provided in section 1 of this act, executing similar articles of association, under the hands of its executive committee, and the seal of the hive, and appending thereto the affidavit of its recorder, setting forth the official character of the several members of its executive committee, that said resolution was passed at a regular review, and received the affirmative votes of 2/3 of all the members present, and filing the same with the corporation and securities bureau of the department of commerce. A copy of said articles of association duly certified by the corporation and securities bureau of the department of commerce shall be prima facie evidence in all the courts of this state, of the existence and incorporation of such subordinate hive.
