Terms Used In Michigan Laws 482.50

  • Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
  • person: may extend and be applied to bodies politic and corporate, as well as to individuals. See Michigan Laws 8.3l
   Any person who with intent to defraud issues or aids in issuing a non-negotiable bill without the words “not negotiable” placed plainly upon the face thereof, shall be guilty of a crime, and upon conviction shall be punished for each offense by imprisonment not exceeding 5 years, or by a fine not exceeding 5,000 dollars, or by both.
