  • Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
  • Dower: A widow
   Such damages shall be 1/3 part of the annual value of the mesne profits of the lands in which she shall so recover her dower, to be estimated in a suit against the heirs of her husband, from the time of his death; and in suits against other persons from the time of her demanding her dower of such persons.
