Terms Used In Michigan Laws 722.1494

  • Child born out of wedlock: means a child conceived and born to a woman who was not married from the conception to the date of birth of the child, or a child that the court has determined to be a child born or conceived during a marriage but not the issue of that marriage.   • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories.   A man is the father of a child born out of wedlock if the man has been determined to be the child’s father under section 5, other law of this state, or the law of another state.
