  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories.    The electors shall vote by ballot. Such ballot shall be prepared and furnished by the board of election commissioners as provided by the general election laws of the state, and shall contain the names of all officers to be voted for, and all questions or propositions submitted to be voted upon, and all matters touching the form and contents of the ballot and the casting and canvassing of the same, and all other matters touching elections shall be governed by the general election laws of the state, when not inconsistent with the provisions of this act.
