  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

When the administrative hearing commission or any court of competent jurisdiction issues an order to stay or suspend any action of the director of revenue with respect to the assessment or collection of any taxes, interest or penalties, the period of such stay or suspension shall not be deemed or taken as any part of the time limited for the assessment or collection of such taxes, interest or penalties.
