  • Settlement: Parties to a lawsuit resolve their difference without having a trial. Settlements often involve the payment of compensation by one party in satisfaction of the other party's claims.

Every collector of the revenue having made settlement, according to law, of county revenue collected or received by the collector shall pay the amount found due into the county treasury, and the treasurer shall give him duplicate receipts therefor, one of which shall be filed in the office of the clerk of the county commission, who shall grant the collector full quietus under the seal of the commission.
