Sheep, goats or cattle found to be infected* with scabies at a market or on dealer’s premises, or elsewhere, shall be immediately dipped, or otherwise treated as directed by and under the supervision of a representative of the department or of the division, or an accredited approved veterinarian, at the owner’s expense. Said sheep, goats or cattle shall remain under quarantine until released by the department, or its representative, and shall be redipped if necessary, or otherwise treated as directed by and under the supervision of the department or its representative, at the owner’s expense. Except that the sheep, goats or cattle with scabies may be moved, without dipping, directly to a federally inspected or state approved slaughtering establishment within this state under permit from the state veterinarian or his representative. A copy of the quarantine order or slaughter permit shall be immediately forwarded to the department.
