Terms Used In Missouri Laws 364.070

  • Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
  • Financing institution: a person engaged in the business of purchasing or otherwise acquiring retail time contracts or accounts under retail charge agreements from one or more sellers. See Missouri Laws 364.020
  • Person: an individual, partnership, corporation, association, and any other group however organized. See Missouri Laws 364.020
  • State: when applied to any of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" includes such district and territories. See Missouri Laws 1.020

Any person who knowingly violates any provision of this chapter or of any law of this state relating to the business of a financing institution in this state without a license therefor except as provided in this chapter is guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars or by confinement in the county jail for not more than six months or both.
