  • Adjourn: A motion to adjourn a legislative chamber or a committee, if passed, ends that day's session.

It shall be the duty of the commissioners to assemble accordingly; and if a majority do not appear according to such notice, those appearing shall publicly adjourn to some other day, and so on, as often as may be necessary, until a majority shall assemble; but no such adjournment shall be for a longer period than ten days at a time.
